This is the history and transformation of a row house and former mechanic’s garage at the corner of Hatfield at 48th Street, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Built in 1890 as an office and adjoining carriage house, it was later home to a mechanic and garage before falling into disrepair. These structures and the adjacent four row houses on 48th make up 48th Street Row and were redeveloped in 2012 through a partnership with Botero Development, Moss Architects, and the Lawrenceville Corporation.
